Easy Creamy Pumpkin Dip

This simple pumpkin dip combines the flavor of pumpkin pie with the creamy texture of a dessert dip. It requires no baking and can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated until you're ready to serve.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup pumpkin purée
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup whipped topping or freshly whipped cream
  • Ground cinnamon, for serving

For Serving:

  • Sliced apples
  • Graham crackers
  • Gingersnap cookies
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Pretzels
  • Pear slices
  • Cinnamon pita chips

Instructions

1. Soften the Cream Cheese

Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature before mixing.

Softened cream cheese blends much more easily and helps create a smooth dip without small lumps.

2. Beat the Cream Cheese

Add the softened cream cheese to a large mixing bowl.

Using a hand mixer, beat for approximately 1–2 minutes, or until completely smooth and creamy.

3. Add the Pumpkin

Add the pumpkin purée and continue mixing until fully incorporated with the cream cheese.

Make sure you're using pure pumpkin purée rather than pumpkin pie filling, which already contains added sugar and spices.

4. Add the Sweetener and Spices

Add the powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.

Beat until everything is evenly combined and the mixture becomes smooth.

5. Fold in the Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped topping or freshly whipped cream into the pumpkin mixture.

Continue folding just until combined. Avoid overmixing so the dip maintains a light, fluffy texture.

6. Chill

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

This allows the dip to firm slightly while giving the spices time to blend with the pumpkin.

7. Garnish and Serve

Transfer the pumpkin dip to a serving bowl and finish with a light dusting of cinnamon.

Serve chilled with sliced apples, graham crackers, gingersnap cookies, pretzels, or your favorite dippers.

Why This Recipe Works

Cream cheese creates a rich and slightly tangy base that balances the natural sweetness of the pumpkin and maple syrup. Whipped cream lightens the mixture, giving the finished dip a softer, fluffier texture.

Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves provide the classic pumpkin spice flavor, while maple syrup complements the pumpkin with a deeper fall sweetness.

The combination creates something similar to pumpkin cheesecake filling, but with a lighter texture that's perfect for dipping.
