Ingredients:

  • 400g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, finely diced
  • 1 celery stalk, finely diced
  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ cup red wine (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 400g pasta of choice (spaghetti, tagliatelle, etc.)
  • Grated Parmesan, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned.

  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine (if using), oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  5. Serve sauce over pasta and top with grated Parmesan.
