Berry Compote: Fresh Fruit
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups mixed berry, or single fruit of your choice
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
- ½ lemon Juiced
- In a medium sauce pan, add the berries or fruit and the lemon juice on a medium high heat.
- Cook the fruit mixture for 3-4 minutes or until the fruit begins to breakdown.
- Add the maple syrup and reduce the heat to medium.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Allow to cool. Use immediately or store in an air tight container for later use. Keep refrigerated
Fruit Compote: Frozen fruit
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen fruit or Mixed berries
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ½ lemon, juiced
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp corn starch
Procedure
- In a medium sauce pan on medium high heat combine sugar, lemon juice and frozen berries.
- Once fruit mixture has come to a boil, slightly break down the fruit.
- Combine the water and the corn starch together to make a slurry.
- Add corn starch slurry to berries and cook until the mixture begins to boil.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool. Use immediately or store in an air tight container for later use. Keep refrigerated.
