Easy Fruit Compote Recipe

Berry Compote: Fresh Fruit

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups mixed berry, or single fruit of your choice
  • 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • ½ lemon Juiced
Procedure
  1. In a medium sauce pan, add the berries or fruit and the lemon juice on a medium high heat.
  2. Cook the fruit mixture for 3-4 minutes or until the fruit begins to breakdown.
  3. Add the maple syrup and reduce the heat to medium.
  4. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Allow to cool. Use immediately or store in an air tight container for later use. Keep refrigerated

Fruit Compote: Frozen fruit

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen fruit or Mixed berries
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp corn starch

Procedure

  1.  In a medium sauce pan on medium high heat combine sugar, lemon juice and frozen berries.
  2. Once fruit mixture has come to a boil, slightly break down the fruit.
  3. Combine the water and the corn starch together to make a slurry.
  4.  Add corn starch slurry to berries and cook until the mixture begins to boil.
  5.  Remove from heat and allow to cool. Use immediately or store in an air tight container for later use. Keep refrigerated.
