Simple Vanilla Cake

This classic vanilla cake is soft, fluffy, and perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a delicious homemade cake that everyone will love.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
