🍂 Autumn Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix), peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

For the Crisp Topping:

  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions:

Prep the Oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x9" baking dish.

Make the Filling
In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Make the Topping
In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cold butter cubes and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend until crumbly.

Assemble & Bake
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden and the apples are bubbly and soft.

Serve
Let cool slightly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Pro Tip:

Use cold butter for a perfectly crisp topping — and don’t overmix. You want clumps!
